Diego Ibanez of California currently holds the title of Treasurer and Director of Finance for San Fernando, CA, where he puts his decades of experience to work each day. Diego Ibanez began his education at the University of California, Santa Cruz campus. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Legal Studies. After graduation, Diego studied at Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs in New York City. He received his master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration with a major in Advanced Policy Analysis. Next, Diego chose Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in Bloomington, Indiana, to earn his Master of Business Administration, Majoring in Finance. Throughout his academic career, Diego Ibanez of California won accolades and worked outside of school to obtain real-world experience. In addition to enrolling as a participant in programs like Goldman, Sachs & Co Investment Banking Summer Camps. In addition, Diego was awarded a fellowship from the prestigious Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, the nation’s foremost organization dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in business.

Diego is also multilingual, which is a priceless commodity when working with a diverse group of people. In addition to fluency in English and Spanish, Diego is conversant in Portuguese, French, and German. The economic effects of his multilingualism cannot be understated.

Diego Ibanez California-based businessman is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 candidate and a scholarship recipient from the CFA Society of Los Angeles. To further promote the cultural, business, and educational exchange between the US and select foreign countries, Diego also attended the Business in Brazil program through the Brazil-Florida Business Council. During this time, he traveled to Argentina, Brazil, and Chile while taking part in Florida International University’s Mercosur Program, designed to aid in the flow of international commerce.

His first official position was with Newgate, LLC in Greenwich, CT. As the research analyst for emerging markets, Diego aided in determining the appropriate trading strategies for American and Global Depositary Receipts. These decisions directly impacted investors’ opportunities to hold shares in the equity of foreign countries as an alternative to trading on international markets.  

He worked as an intern in public finance at the Crédit Local de France’ New York (Dexia) Group. Diego created financial models to determine risk factors and credit analyses of seven distinct Latin American municipalities in Argentina and Mexico.

As an Equity Research Analyst in the New York office and Internet Equity Research Analyst in the London, UK office, Diego spent several years employed by the German bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. Throughout his tenure, Diego Ibanez of California learned valuable skills that would benefit the rest of his career in the financial world. Working with a team, Diego assisted in the development of equity research models. The covered industries included automotive, oil & gas, and the semiconductor and wireless telecommunications sectors. Diego also contributed to the equity valuation of research models, reports, and client presentations during his time with the firm.
